For us, diving is not just about adventure, relaxation, and beautiful encounters underwater. It also comes with responsibility. As a dive school, we work daily in and around a fragile ecosystem — and that requires care, attention, and respect.
That’s why our way of working is guided by the philosophies of SSI, such as the Diver Diamond, the Responsible Diver principles, and the Blue Oceans mindset. In addition, we actively support two local Curaçaoan nature conservation initiatives: BRANCH Coral Foundation and Sea Turtle Conservation Curaçao. This fits seamlessly with the motto of the beach where we are located: “The Beach Where Nature Comes First.”
The Diver Diamond shows that diving is more than just learning skills. A complete diver develops in knowledge, experience, technique, equipment use, and respect for the environment. It beautifully summarizes what diving is really about: not just learning how to get underwater, but also how to be a part of it in a safe, conscious, and respectful way.
Responsible diving is also about how you prepare and how you act underwater. The Responsible Diver principles emphasize the importance of good planning, carefully checking your equipment, paying attention to your own health, and respecting your buddy and the environment. It’s the small, conscious choices that together ensure safe and relaxed dives.
The Blue Oceans philosophy is about being mindful of the sea and everything that lives in it. It’s not just about what you do underwater, but also how you behave as a diver in and around nature. Think of protecting the reef, preventing waste in the sea, respecting marine life, and contributing to the preservation of dive sites. The core is simple: a responsible diver helps protect the ocean.
For us, all of this is not about grand words, but about daily choices: in how we treat the reef, how we guide our guests, and how we all contribute to preserving the underwater world. After all, the better we care for the ocean, the more beautiful it remains—for us, for our guests, and for the generations after us.
