XL Drift Diving with Sidemount

Exclusive XL drift dives with sidemount for experienced divers. Long, carefully planned current dives along the coast of Curaçao, conducted in small teams and only under suitable conditions.

Our XL drift dives with sidemount are not a standard activity on the program, but custom dives for experienced divers who appreciate current, distance, and control. We use the natural current to cover long stretches of coastline — calmly, efficiently, and in small teams.

These dives typically last 90 to 120 minutes, and sometimes longer. The final duration is always determined by conservative gas management, depth, current, and team comfort. Not the clock, but safety and balance determine the profile.

In suitable conditions, we have drifted from Superior at the megapier to Marriott, from Fisherman’s Wharf to Piscadera, from Piscadera to Blue Bay, from Porto Mari to Cas Abao (and vice versa), from Playa Largu to Manzalina, from Kleine Knip to Grote Knip, and from Barracuda Point to Director’s Bay or Tugboat. These are not fixed routes, but trajectories that are only possible when conditions and experience come together.

Sidemount offers clear advantages here: optimal trim in current, independent redundancy, and comfort during longer bottom times.

These drift dives are exclusively accessible to certified sidemount divers with demonstrable experience in current diving. We dive in small teams of up to four divers and devote extensive attention beforehand to planning, gas strategy, and procedures.
