An Open Water Course with Extra Comfort and Personal Attention

This course is ideal for those who want to earn their Open Water certification with more personal guidance, more variety, and extra comfort during the training days. You’ll start the theory at your own pace at home via the SSI app. In Curaçao, a beautiful diving adventure awaits you.

Day 1 – A Relaxed Start at Porto Mari

We begin in the sheltered bay of Porto Mari, one of the island’s most accessible dive sites. In shallow water, we build confidence step by step and make the first reef dives up to a maximum of 12 meters.

Because we are located directly on this house reef, everything takes place in one location. You can prepare at the dive center, fit your equipment on site, and then simply walk into the water. This makes the first day relaxed and straightforward, without transport or carrying equipment around.

The clear water and rich marine life ensure that you quickly feel at ease and can learn the basic skills in a calm environment. Between dives, we have lunch together: a relaxed moment to share experiences and unwind.

Day 2 & 3 – Open Water Dives from the Boat

On days two and three, we board the comfortable catamaran of Dive In Curaçao for two full days of boat diving. Depending on the conditions, we dive at Oostpunt, Westpunt, or Klein Curaçao—locations known for their healthy reefs and impressive underwater landscapes.

You’ll continue working on your skills and make dives up to 12 meters (day 2) and 18 meters (day 3). This way, you gain experience not only with diving but also with boat procedures, different environments, and changing conditions. Lunch and drinks are included, so you can fully focus on diving and enjoying the day.

Small Groups, Flexible Pace

As with all our courses, we work in small groups, often even one-on-one. We plan flexibly, take our time, and fully adjust the pace to your needs. No group pressure, but personal attention, peace, and fun—both above and below water.

Your Open Water Certification

Upon completion, you will receive the internationally recognized SSI Open Water Diver certification. This allows you to dive independently worldwide and progress to further training such as Advanced Open Water and specialties.

During this course, you can also earn the SSI Boat Diver specialty certificate, which counts towards your first recognition rating (Specialty Diver).
