Classified Dive Professional

Guide divers at a professional level within the Classified Diving program. As a Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, or Instructor, learn how to organize and adapt dives so that everyone can participate safely.

Guide, Adapt, and Enable

As a Classified Dive Professional, you play a central role in the SSI Classified Diving program. You guide divers with disabilities, support buddies, and ensure that diving can take place safely and responsibly.

This course builds on the role of dive buddy and takes it a step further. You learn how to adapt training and dives to the specific needs of the diver, without compromising on safety and quality. You develop insight into different types of disabilities and learn how to handle them practically and professionally. You will work with scenarios where planning, communication, and risk management come together.

As a Classified Dive Professional, you are not only a guide but also a coordinator. You ensure that the team of classified dive buddies and classified divers works well together and that every dive is structured and safe.

This course is intended for SSI Divemasters, Assistant Instructors, or higher who want to expand their professional skills and actively contribute to inclusive diving. Upon completion, you are qualified to guide and support Classified Divers at all levels of the program. Of course, the course is also accessible to professionals from other organizations, provided they have an equivalent level.
