Westpoint boat dive trip

Comfortable boat dives at Westpunt: discover the most beautiful reefs of west Curaçao during a relaxing boat dive trip with Dive In’s catamaran, featuring long drift dives, clear water, and iconic dive sites on the west coast.

In collaboration with Dive In Curaçao, we are organizing a wonderful boat diving trip to Westpunt – known for its impressive reefs, clear water, and relaxing drift dives. This is Westpunt diving at its best: calm, comfortable, and with plenty of variety.

We meet at 9:00 am at the dock of Sint-Michiel / Boca Sami (or elsewhere by arrangement). On site, we assemble our dive gear and transfer everything to the Dive In Curaçao catamaran — widely regarded as the most comfortable dive charter boat in Curaçao.

The Petra is a comfortable 38-foot (11.6 m) twin-engine catamaran from Cheetah Marine, equipped with two powerful 300 hp engines. The boat is specially built for dive trips and accommodates 15 to 18 divers, ensuring there is always plenty of space and tranquility on board. Thanks to the stable catamaran design, spacious deck layout with ample shade and seating, easy entry via sturdy ladders, and all modern navigation and safety equipment, the Petra is ideal for relaxed and safe boat dives around Curaçao.

Once everyone is on board, we head towards the west side of the island. Here, we don’t need to dive deep to enjoy lush soft and gorgonian corals, surrounded by large schools of colorful fish. Depending on weather and currents, we dive at iconic sites such as Blue Wall, Seldom Reef, Mushroom Forest, Blue Room, Sponge Forest, Watamula, or another beautiful spot that is only accessible by boat.

Both dives are drift dives: we dive with the current in one direction, while the boat follows us at a safe distance. That means little effort, lots of relaxation, and maximum time to admire the reef.

After the first dive, we take a relaxed surface interval in one of the sheltered bays on the west coast. Here, we serve a simple lunch (special dietary requirements? let us know) and there is time to snorkel if desired. After that, the second drift dive follows.

What makes this trip extra special: no maximum dive time of 45 minutes. With the captain’s permission, we dive as long as air and conditions allow. Dives of 60 to 70 minutes are quite normal here.

You don’t need to be an experienced diver to join this boat trip. Recently certified Open Water divers regularly join us as well. We do ask that you have dived recently and/or do a check dive with us at Porto Mari beforehand, so everyone can enjoy the trip in a relaxed and safe way.

Around 3:00 PM, we expect to be back at the dock — with two beautiful dives and a relaxed Westpunt experience to look back on.

💡 Good to know: The price of this boat trip does not include dive equipment. Don’t have a complete set yourself? You can rent a full set of dive gear from us at a special, reduced rate of just USD / 40 XCG.

For this trip, a minimum Open Water certification is required. Don’t have one yet? No problem. You can start with a Discover Scuba Dive (2 hours) at Porto Mari, or go straight into the SSI Open Water course (3 days). For those looking to make it a bit more special, we also offer the course in a premium format, including two boat dives.
