Explore the coast of West Curaçao from the water during this guided kayak & snorkel tour. As you paddle along tranquil bays and rocky shorelines, we will stop at various spots to snorkel above the coral reef. An active and relaxing way to discover the nature and underwater world of Curaçao.

Along the coast of West Curaçao, you’ll find several tranquil bays, small beaches, and rocky shorelines that offer a completely different perspective from the water. Together with a guide from Porto Mari Dive Center, you’ll paddle along this coast, stopping at spots where the reef lies close to the shore. There, we’ll enter the water to snorkel and get a close-up look at Curaçao’s underwater world.

With a guide from Porto Mari Dive Center, you’ll discover places that are sometimes harder to reach from land. Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of the rugged Banda Abou coastline and the clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. At various points during the tour, we’ll stop to snorkel. The reef often starts right near the shore here, allowing you to snorkel among tropical fish, coral, and other marine life.

The combination of kayaking and snorkeling makes this tour a relaxing yet active way to experience the nature of Curaçao.

What to expect

The tour starts at Porto Mari with a brief explanation about kayaking and snorkeling. Your guide will show you how the kayaks work and what to pay attention to while paddling and snorkeling. Afterwards, we set off along the coast of West Curaçao. Depending on the waves and current, we usually head towards Playa Hunku and Cas Abou. Often, Playa Largu—a beautiful and rugged pebble beach—or even Playa Shon Mosa—a small sandy beach—at the San Juan plantation is our final destination. 

Along the way, we stop at one or more spots to snorkel above the reef. The guide stays nearby to point out animals and answer questions. After the last snorkeling stop, we paddle back at a relaxed pace. Or we get picked up at Cas Abou.
