Wild Wild Klein Curaçao

Join us on a special diving expedition to the rugged and unspoiled side of Klein Curaçao — a trip for divers who love nature, space, and truly beautiful diving.

In collaboration with Dive In Curaçao, we set out early in the morning from the old fishermen’s harbor at Spanish Water (or we pick you up at your accommodation). On site, we assemble the gear and load everything onto the Petra: a comfortable 38-foot (11.6 m) Cheetah Marine catamaran, specially built for dive trips with 15–18 divers. Thanks to its stable catamaran design, spacious deck layout with shade, easy ladders, and modern navigation and safety equipment, this is the ideal boat for safe and relaxed diving—even on the rougher east side.

On the morning itself, we assess the conditions. Safety always comes first: if the wind is too strong or the waves are too high, we switch to Oostpunt as a full alternative. This way, you are always assured of a beautiful and responsible dive day.

When the weather cooperates, we sail along the east coast towards Klein Curaçao. The crossing takes just over an hour—keep an eye on the horizon for flying fish along the way.
Non-divers can first be dropped off on the calm west side of the island to snorkel, swim, or relax. We then continue to the wild east side, where an impressive, pristine reef awaits with soft corals, sea fans, and beautiful formations. After a current check, we determine the entry point and direction of the drift dive.

Between the two dives, there is time to go ashore and experience Klein Curaçao above water as well. We provide a simple lunch (dietary requirements? Please let us know in advance).

What makes this trip extra special: there is no fixed maximum dive time. With the captain’s permission, we dive as long as air and conditions allow—dives of an hour or longer are quite normal here.

This trip is suitable for divers with at least Open Water certification. You don’t have to be an expert, but we do ask that you have dived recently or do an orientation dive with us at Porto Mari beforehand. This way, we ensure everyone can enjoy comfortably and safely.

At the end of the afternoon, we return to Curaçao (around 15:00–16:00)—with salty hair, a big smile, and memories of a truly wild dive day.

For this trip, you need at least an Open Water certification.
