Guided snorkel tour at Porto Mari

Discover the colorful house reef of Porto Mari during a relaxing snorkeling tour. Together with a guide, you will explore the shallow parts of the reef and learn more about the marine life found here. An accessible way to experience Curaçao's underwater world up close.

Snorkeling at Porto Mari is one of the easiest ways to discover the underwater world of Curaçao. The reef starts right in front of the beach and gradually slopes down into clear, calm water — ideal for observing marine life up close.

During a snorkeling tour, a guide from Porto Mari Dive Center will take you along the most beautiful shallow parts of the house reef. Along the way, the guide will point out fish, corals, and other creatures you might otherwise miss. You’ll also visit our coral nursery, where we work on the conservation and restoration of the coral reef.

You’ll swim leisurely along the reef and over the sandy plains between the coral formations. With a bit of luck, you might spot turtles, barracudas, parrotfish, or schools of small reef fish hiding among the corals.

The tour is relaxed and suitable for almost anyone who can swim. No snorkeling experience is required.

What to expect
The snorkeling tour begins with a short briefing on the beach. Your guide will explain how the equipment works and what to pay attention to while snorkeling.

Afterwards, you’ll enter the water together and follow the reef along various spots where there is often plenty of marine life to see. The guide stays with the group throughout the tour and assists where needed.

After about an hour of snorkeling, you’ll return to the beach.
