With the SSI Open Water Diver course in Curaçao, you take the first step towards independent diving up to 18 meters deep, together with a buddy.

This internationally recognized diving course is the foundation for anyone who wants to learn to dive safely and with confidence — and the start of a lifetime of underwater fun.

What does the Open Water course look like?

The course combines theory, practical exercises, and open water dives.

• You complete most of the theory in advance via the modern SSI e-learning program

• In the water, you learn all essential diving skills step by step

• You make a total of six dives: two practice sessions in shallow water and four open water dives on the reef

We deliberately spread the course over three days, with two dives per day. This gives you time to get used to the water, practice, and feel comfortable underwater.

Learn to dive on the house reef of Porto Mari

All dives take place in the bay of Playa Porto Mari, one of the most beautiful and accessible dive sites in Curaçao.

Thanks to the clear water, calm conditions, and rich marine life, you will see colorful fish and coral from your very first dives.

Because we are located directly on the house reef, everything happens in one place.
You can calmly prepare at the dive center, fit your equipment on site, and then walk straight into the water. No transport, no carrying equipment — just a clear and relaxed start to your diving course.

Your SSI Open Water Diver certification

After successful completion, you will receive the internationally recognized SSI Open Water Diver certification. This allows you to dive independently worldwide up to 18 meters deep.
