Slangenbaai & Kokomo

Discover two hidden gems in one trip: the dynamic Snake Bay at Boca Sami and the relaxing Kokomo (Vaersenbaai). A perfectly balanced dive day with variety, tranquility, and surprisingly beautiful reef.

Be surprised by two very different, yet perfectly complementary dive sites on the west coast of Curaçao. During this trip, we’ll take you to two hidden gems: the intimate Slangenbaai near Boca Sami and the laid-back Vaersenbaai, better known as Kokomo.

We’ll pick you up or meet you on site, whichever is most convenient for you. The first dive will be at Slangenbaai, a small and sheltered bay named after a misunderstanding: the “snakes” turned out to be eels and moray eels—permanent residents of the reef here.

The entry is easy and the reef is right off the coast. Due to its location, there can occasionally be a bit more current here, making this dive extra dynamic and interesting. Underwater, you’ll discover a surprisingly large and beautiful reef with, among other things, vast colonies of finger coral and plenty of other marine life.

For the second dive, we’ll move to the fully equipped beach of Vaersenbaai (Kokomo). This dive site is usually calmer, ideal for a relaxed dive and a good look around. Kokomo is known for the large schools of fish that swim here, which in turn attract barracudas, various types of bass, and groupers. Here too, the entry is easy and the reef is right off the coast.

The combination of these two dives—more dynamic at Slangenbaai and more relaxed at Kokomo—provides a nice variety and makes this trip a complete and varied diving day.

The total duration of the trip is about 4 hours. Depending on conditions and preferences, we can adjust the order, do the trip the other way around, or combine one of these dives with another dive site in the area. Flexibility is always our priority.

For this trip, you need at least a Scuba Diver or Open Water certification.
Don’t have one yet? No problem—you can start with an introductory dive (2 hours) or go straight for the SSI Open Water course (3 days).
