DIN/INT adaptors

Handy adapters for seamlessly switching between DIN and INT connections on scuba tanks and regulators.

The difference between DIN and INT relates to the way a regulator is connected to a scuba tank. DIN is originally the European standard and uses a screw connection that is threaded into the valve. INT (also known as yoke) is the American standard and clamps around the valve with a bracket. Both systems are safe and reliable, but not automatically interchangeable. That’s why it’s useful to know which type of connection you use and which valve is on the tank.

Fortunately, most of our scuba tanks are suitable for both systems. They are equipped with so-called Pro-valves with a DIN insert. You can recognize these tanks by the blue caps. By default, they function as INT valves, but by unscrewing the insert you make the valve suitable for regulators with a DIN connection. This way, you can use the same tank with both types of regulators, depending on what you have with you.

A smaller portion of our tanks – recognizable by the black caps – has a fixed INT valve. In some cases, there is still an insert inside, but it can no longer be unscrewed. As a result, these tanks are not directly suitable for regulators with a DIN connection. However, we can still use them perfectly well in combination with a DIN regulator, thanks to a DIN/INT adaptor.

Such an adaptor is a small but indispensable tool for divers who work with different connections. In no time, you can convert a tank with an INT valve so you can use a DIN regulator on it. You can also look at it the other way around: with an adaptor, you essentially turn your DIN regulator into an INT regulator. It just depends on your perspective. In both cases, it ensures that you remain flexible and can always enter the water with the right combination.

Our adaptors are sturdy, reliable, and easy to install. They prevent surprises and make it possible to combine almost any tank with almost any regulator. This is especially useful if you travel, use different configurations, or simply want to be sure that everything fits.
