Sidemount tanks (Nitrox)

Nitrox sidemount cylinders for longer, more comfortable dives with added safety and flexibility underwater.

Diving with Nitrox in sidemount configuration offers a particularly comfortable and efficient way of diving. By carrying the tanks alongside your body instead of on your back, you achieve excellent balance in the water and greater freedom of movement. Combined with Nitrox, you can often stay at depth longer and more relaxed, with more efficient gas usage and an extra safety margin within recreational limits.

Sidemount is popular among divers who value trim, control, and comfort. The configuration puts less strain on your back and shoulders and makes it easier to move streamlined through the water. In open water, one of the major advantages is that with two tanks you essentially have a double gas supply, allowing you—within the limits of your dive plan—to dive significantly longer. For those who don’t need such long dives, sidemount with the slimmer tanks can be a very pleasant, light, and streamlined option that mainly offers comfort and flexibility.

Our sidemount tanks with Nitrox are professionally filled, checked, and maintained, and are intended for divers who are already certified in sidemount diving. We have sidemount tanks available in both the standard size (2 x 80 cuft) and in a slimmer, more compact version (2 x 40 cuft). This way, you can choose what best fits your dive plan, air consumption, and personal preference.

Because working with two independent tanks requires specific skills, we only rent this equipment to divers with a valid sidemount certification, and in this case, a Nitrox certification is also required.

If you have no experience with sidemount yet but are curious, you can take the sidemount course with us or first book a Discover Sidemount Diving session with one of our sidemount instructors. This way, you can get to know this configuration in a safe and relaxed manner and then independently enter the water with sidemount equipment.

If you also have no experience with Nitrox, you can also take the Nitrox course with us. This short and practical specialty teaches you how to dive safely with enriched air, make better use of your bottom time, and be more conscious with your dive planning. You can also combine both courses, so you can make optimal use of sidemount tanks with Nitrox and dive even more comfortably and efficiently.
