Anke | SSI Assistant Instructor
Anke works at Porto Mari Dive Center as an assistant instructor and is also our regular First Aid instructor (React Right). With her background in healthcare, she is committed to making diving accessible to everyone.
Bon dia! I’m Anke and I am now working for the second time at Porto Mari Dive Center. In 2022, I spent over half a year here to earn my Divemaster certification. I have now truly settled in Curaçao and am working towards my next step: becoming a dive instructor.
Water is where I feel most at home, but I am also a traveler and a real caregiver at heart. I learned to dive over 25 years ago while traveling and since then I have had the opportunity to discover the underwater world in many special places. Still, diving in Curaçao remains the most beautiful for me — and the fact that my swimsuit and flip-flops are now my regular work attire feels like a gift.
In the Netherlands, I enjoyed working for twenty years in care for people with disabilities. I bring that experience with me to my work at Porto Mari Sports, because I believe that diving should be possible for everyone. If someone needs extra guidance, care, or support to enjoy a great dive, I am happy to be there for them.
In addition, I am a React Right Instructor and I share that knowledge with great passion, both with students and colleagues. I make sure the team stays well informed about everything related to first aid, so you are in safe hands with us in that area as well.
