Sander | SSI Divemaster Instructor
Sander is an SSI Divemaster Instructor at Porto Mari Dive Center and the longest-serving team member. With a background in IT, he is also the equipment specialist of the team.
Hi, I'm Sander. I have been working at Porto Mari Dive Center since 2017, making me the longest-serving member of the team. During the pandemic in 2021, as an experienced divemaster, I took the step to become an instructor. I originally come from Dronten (Flevoland), where I worked in the IT sector.
After a short period as an underwater photo and videographer, I ended up at Porto Mari Dive Center — and I’ve basically never left. I am now an SSI Divemaster Instructor and also the equipment specialist within the team. So, for technical questions about your dive gear, adjustments, or equipment choices, you can always come to me. In addition, I am happy to teach courses such as equipment specialist and underwater photography.
Despite all these years, I still prefer to dive at our house reef at Porto Mari. I’d love to take you along in search of the smaller underwater life and tell you all about the behavior of special species, such as the mantis shrimp or the frogfish.
