Geert | SSI Divemaster Instructor

Good morning! I am Geert and I was already working as a divemaster at Porto Mari Dive Center before the pandemic. Just before the corona crisis, I met Danniek at Porto Mari. Together, we returned to the Netherlands during the pandemic, where we stayed for several years.

In the Netherlands, I worked as a maintenance technician in the poultry sector. That technical background also comes in handy when diving: I have an eye for detail, safety, and equipment. In addition, I have a great passion for gardening and aquarium fish. By now, I have traded my love for aquariums for the largest aquarium in the world: the ocean, where I enjoy watching fish in the wild every day.

After five years in the Netherlands, I have returned to Curaçao together with my partner and our dog Dushi. Upon our return, I immediately took the next step to become an instructor. I am now active as an instructor at Porto Mari Dive Center. I consider it an honor to teach people how to dive and to introduce them to the wonderful underwater world.
